Branding for a cyber security company

Tasked to help a local start-up in 2012, I created a logo and business cards for Power Fingerprinting (now known as PFP Cyber Security).

my role:  Visual Design

Design challenge:  Balance their need to convey a serious and trustworthy business with elegance and simplicity expected in a modern software company.

It took many iterations, using Adobe Illustrator, and reviews by the company founders to come to this logo.  Here are my early ideas that led to the final logo.

Inspiration came from both recognizable security paradigms such as locks, shields, eyes, and magnifying glasses as well as processors and fingerprints due to their proprietary technology.

The logo carried into other marketing materials, such as shirts, posters, and the hardware itself.

In designing their business card, I split the design into layers so as to emboss the logo.  The tactile experience gave it that extra something to make a memorable impression as well as help the color of the fingerprint pop.
